Holy is He Who carried His servant by night from the Holy Mosque (in Makkah) to the farther Mosque (in Jerusalem) whose surroundings We have blessed that We might show him some of Our Signs. Indeed He alone is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Surah 17. Al-Israa: 1)
In the verse above, the attribute Al Basir comes with yet another attribute of Allah: Al Sami (The All Hearing). Allah hears us and sees us in our times of joy and distress and is always there to help His servants when in need. In fact Allah has supernatural ability to perceive and plan events in the future or beyond normal sensory contact, for Allah is The Ever Clairvoyant.
The above said two attributes come together yet again:
Allah commands you to deliver trusts to those worthy of them; and when you judge between people, to judge with justice. Excellent is the admonition Allah gives you. Allah is All-Hearing, All-Seeing. (Surah 4. An-Nisaa: 58) In the verse above, Muslims are warned to uphold justice and should not harm the innocents. The admonition comes with the warning that Allah is hearing and watching you for He is the absolute Hearer and Seer.
In the classical Arabic, Al Basir takes it roots from b-s-r, which means: (1) to see, behold, notice, (2) to perceive, to have insight, (3) to be acutely aware and (4) to know everything which humans do not have the least capability to do so.
"He it is Who created the heavens and the earth in six days and then established Himself on the Throne. He knows all that enters the earth and all that comes forth from it, and all that comes down from the heaven and all that goes up to it. He is with you wherever you are. Allah sees all that you do." [Surah 57. Al-Hadid: 4]Allah is The Ever Clairvoyant for He has insight into all things. The One who perceives every detail. The One who understands all things, both outer and inner for Allah’s sight is limitless like His knowledge, and no creature can be concealed from His sight. So where will you hide to commit a sin?
May we are not caught committing a sin or usurping others' rights fro He is All Seer and aware. Aameen
