The belief in the evil eye among humans has existed since prehistory, and amulets to protect against it have been found from dating to about 5,000 years ago. But as Muslims, we should not have faith in any magical, healing or protection attributes of amulets, which are very common all over the world, even in Muslim communities. As Muslims it should be our firm belief that it is only Allah Who can protect us from every kind of evil, provided we invoke the mercy of Allah much too often for our protection.
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ too would often pray for the protection of his grandchildren from evil and evil eye as did the Prophet Ibraheem (Abraham, may peace be upon him)prayed for the protection of his sins Ismail and Ishaq.
We share this supplication as mentioned in Sunan Ibn Majah / Book 31 on Medicine كتاب الطب / Chapter # 36 What the Prophet (saws) recited to seek refuge for others and what was recited (in that regard) for him /باب مَا عَوَّذَ بِهِ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ وَمَا عُوِّذَ بِهِ) as Hadith number # 3525 as under:
It was narrated that Ibn ‘Abbas said:
“The Prophet (ﷺ) used to seek refuge for Hasan and Husain and say: A’udhu bi kalimatil-lahil- tammati, min kulli shaitanin wa hammah, wa min kulli ‘aynin lammah (I seek refuge for you both in the Perfect Words of Allah, from every devil and every poisonous reptile, and from every evil eye).’ And he would say: ‘Thus Ibrahim used to seek refuge with Allah for Isma’il and Ishaq,’ or he said: ‘for Isma’il and Ya’qub.’”

حَدَّثَنَا مُحَمَّدُ بْنُ سُلَيْمَانَ بْنِ هِشَامٍ الْبَغْدَادِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، ح وَحَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ خَلاَّدٍ الْبَاهِلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو عَامِرٍ، قَالاَ حَدَّثَنَا سُفْيَانُ، عَنْ مَنْصُورٍ، عَنْ مِنْهَالٍ، عَنْ سَعِيدِ بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ ـ صلى الله عليه وسلم ـ يُعَوِّذُ الْحَسَنَ وَالْحُسَيْنَ يَقُولُ " أَعُوذُ بِكَلِمَاتِ اللَّهِ التَّامَّةِ مِنْ كُلِّ شَيْطَانٍ وَهَامَّةٍ وَمِنْ كُلِّ عَيْنٍ لاَمَّةٍ " . قَالَ " وَكَانَ أَبُونَا إِبْرَاهِيمُ يَعُوِّذُ بِهَا إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَإِسْحَاقَ " . أَوْ قَالَ " إِسْمَاعِيلَ وَيَعْقُوبَ " . وَهَذَا حَدِيثُ وَكِيعٍ .
We, too, should supplicate this supplication much too often for we never know who is envious about our success, wealth, health and families.
May Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān. May Allah help us to be like the ones He loves and let our lives be lived helping others and not making others' lives miserable or unlivable. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ
(36:17) and our duty is no more than to clearly convey the Message.”
That is Our duty is only to convey to you the message that Allah has entrusted us with. Then it is for you to accept it or reject it. We have not been made responsible for making you accept it forcibly, and if you do not accept it, we shall not be seized in consequence of your disbelief, you will yourselves be answerable for your actions on Day of Resurrection.
May Allah forgive me if my posts ever imply a piety far greater than I possess. I am most in need of guidance.
Reading the Qur'ān should be a daily obligation of a Muslim - Reading it with translation will make it meaningful. But reading its Exegesis / Tafsir will make you understand it fully. It will also help the Muslims to have grasp over social issues and their answers discussed in the Qur'an and other matter related to inter faith so that they are able to discuss issues with non-Muslims with authority based on refences from Qur'an.
