A new spiritual reawakening - the silent yet enormous spread of Islam in the West

It has always been alleged that Islam spread by the sword - something that history negated many a times. The examples of long rule of Muslims spread over cce3nturies in Spain and India vindicates the lies for if the Muslims wanted to forcibly convert the Spaniard or the Hindus, no one was stopping them. But Muslim rulers never forced their reversion to Islam and this even resulted into end of Muslim empires in both these countries. So much so for the spread of Islam by the sword.

But has someone ever pondered how Islam continued to spread and by now about two billions Muslims abound the world. One can find Muslims in every nook and corner of the world, even in all non Muslim countries. And unknown to many, the reversion rate of non Muslims is picking up its impetus despite scaring the world by the campaign of islamophobia and labelling Muslims as terrorists. As per many studies, it is estimated that by 2050.

In the next half century or so, Christianity’s long reign as the world’s largest religion may come to an end, according to a just-released report that builds on Pew Research Center’s original population growth projections for religious groups. Indeed, Muslims will grow more than twice as fast as the overall world population between 2015 and 2060 and, in the second half of this century, will likely surpass Christians as the world’s largest religious group.

However, the non Muslim do not credit this growth to the reversion and align this to migration, conversion, birth rates, and the increasing visibility of Muslims in the media and society. In fact many attribute to the growth of Muslims due to birth rate. Such suppositions can be equated with the act of the ostrich burying its head in the sand. But it cannot and does not change the reality.

But the reality of silent spread of Islam can never be hidden. You may now watch a video showing how silently, yet at an enormous speed, Islam is spreading in the world:

May Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى‎) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān. May Allah help us to be like the ones He loves and let our lives be lived helping others and not making others' lives miserable or unlivable. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.

وَمَا عَلَيۡنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ‏
(36:17) and our duty is no more than to clearly convey the Message.”
That is Our duty is only to convey to you the message that Allah has entrusted us with. Then it is for you to accept it or reject it. We have not been made responsible for making you accept it forcibly, and if you do not accept it, we shall not be seized in consequence of your disbelief, you will yourselves be answerable for your actions on Day of Resurrection.

May Allah forgive me if my posts ever imply a piety far greater than I possess. I am most in need of guidance.

Reading the Qur'ān should be a daily obligation of a Muslim - Reading it with translation will make it meaningful. But reading its Exegesis / Tafsir will make you understand it fully. It will also help the Muslims to have grasp over social issues and their answers discussed in the Qur'an and other matter related to inter faith so that they are able to discuss issues with non-Muslims with authority based on refences from Qur'an.

Note: When we mention God in our posts, we mean One True God, we call Allah in Islam, with no associates. Allah is the Sole Creator of all things, and that Allah is all-powerful and all-knowing. Allah has no offspring, no race, no gender, no body, and is unaffected by the characteristics of human life.

Journey of a born Muslim to being an atheist to an eminent Muslim scholar

Many years ago, when I started writing this blog, my aim was to know why non Muslims take the ultimate decision of their lives from leaving the religion of their birth to Islam. And let me say, each revert experience that I read and shared in my blog was so heart warming for these came direct from the hearts of the reverts.

We Muslims call those embracing Islam after leaving their previous faith as REVRTS for in Islam it is believed that every child who is born is born as Muslim. It is only after the environment and the faith adopted by the parents, one chooses another religion. So when a person decides to embrace Islam, it is in fact REVERSION and not conversion as many believe.

Having shared so many revert experiences, there still continue to be many more which are very reassuring that Islam continues to grow with each reversion while many are aspiring to join in.

The experience shared today is somewhat similar to the following experiences already shared:
Today I share the revert experience of a born Muslim, who somehow had drifted into atheism due to the company was in. But then something happened in his life that not only brought him back to Islam but also showed him the light of Islam to share with others. Today he is one of the most eminent and prominent Muslim scholar spready the word of Islam and in the process attracting many non Muslims to Islam. This is the story of Nauman Ali Khan, my favourite Islamic scholar of present time:
May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى‎) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān. May Allah help us have unflinching faith and trust in Divine Wisdom and decisions and should never lament for we do not know that something better has been planned for us by our most caring Lord. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ‏

Revert experience of an aspiring Baptist preacher

We have been sharing the revert experiences of non Muslims with the sole purpose of knowing what is it that convince non Muslims to leave their religion of birth and embrace Islam. It is not at all intended to downplay another religion (s). Each such experience is so mazing that one cannot but commend those who read about Islam, Qur'an and life of Prophet of Islam, Muhammad ﷺ.

Today we share the revert experience of a Baptist preacher who has always been convinced of following a Divine religion with complete authenticity. So much so that one day he came across a Muslim whom he asked what was Islam. After the Muslim explained Islam to him, he just smiled and confided that that Muslim was a CONFUSED Christian. As a devout Christian, his aim has all along to convert Muslims to Christianity, but he was to become Muslim himself instead.

However, his perception about Islam started to change when he received and read a book "Is Bible word of God" by eminent Muslim Scholar and the more he read about it more he wanted to know the historicity of Bible. The more he read the more he believed that he was a CONFUSED Muslim. He was confused about a Catholic Bible and Protectant Bible. And when digging in to the historicity of Bible he came to know that there is not a copy of Bible in Aramaic - or even Hebrew, the languages of land of most of the prophets. Going a little further, there were "authors" of Bible like Paul, John and Luke who "wrote" Bible "about Jesus." And Bible, unlike Qur'an which is only one book of about 600-700 pages, consists of a volume of 60+ books. In Qur'an despite being one book of a few hundred pages, so much is said that confuses someone on non Islamic background as to how concisely and precisely it has been written.

But Qur'an was in Arabic, the language of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and there is only Qur'an, no versions or variations. Unlike Bible which has commandments attributed to Jesus Christ, Qur'an is nothing but direct revelations from God which were conveyed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by Angel Jibraeel (Gabriel).

As for Jesus, he has been quoted as saying that my God is your God, and Jesus was sure that the Father loved him (John 3:35; John 5:20). He was also sure that God, as a perfect Father, would provide for His needs. And He trusted His Father to take care of him, even after death. So how could then Jesus became God himself?

We could write the entire interview, but would like our readers to view and listen to the revert experience that led to Islam in a video labeled " "I Tried to Make Muslims Christian" - Towards Eternity" This video shares the inspiring journey of Brother Khalil Meek, who went from aspiring to become a Baptist preacher to embracing Islam after a deep exploration of religious beliefs.:
By sharing such revert experiences, we hope and pray that those still mulling over reversion to Islam to be reassured that their ultimate decision to enter the fold of Islam will ease their heart and take away  the burden they are carrying due to many contradictions contained in other religions.
Embracing Islam: The Revert Experiences (Reference Page)

We started our blog more than a year ago to know how and why non-Muslims take their ultimate decision to revert to Islam. And since then, we have shared many a account of revert Muslims and it has been very enlightening to know that people living in generally Christian dominated society think positively and find many a taboo and religious beliefs ill-founded and wrongly practiced.

Generally, there are three main reasons of non-Muslims, especially the Christians, to embrace Islam.  I have deliberated upon in my earlier post: Why People of Other Religions Become Muslims? But would mention here just for reference:
  • Oneness of Allah
  • Concept of Trinity
  • The Concept of Original Sin
  • Acceptance of all Prophets
Allhamdolillah, the number of Muslims is increasing at a very healthy rate and some critics of Islam fear that Islam may assume the position of a dominant religion worldwide by 2050. Just for a reference, recently while writing about life of Muslims in Bulgaria, I was surprised to see that mere 7.8% Muslim presence in Bulgaria in 2014 has almost doubled to 15% by 2017.

This reference page provides a link to all our posts written on the subject and should come handy for those who want to know why and how non-Muslims embrace Islam:

1: General
2: Revert Experiences
3. Celebrities that reverted to Islam
We will continue to update this page as and when a new revert experience is added.
May Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى‎) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān.
