Three Lifestyles that can affect a person’s character and spirituality (Hadith Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)

The life style of a person has a profound effect on a man's character, behaviour and interaction with people around. Despite two people with same genetics raised in the same environment can still develop very different styles which is noticeable in personal temperament, life experiences, and their attitudes towards life.

Examples of environmental / ambitions influence:
  • Personal ambitions and aspirations that may define the character of a man.
  • Geography and climate affect lifestyle and outlook to the life.
  • Family and culture shape speech, clothing, manners, and values.
  • Friends and social groups influence music taste, slang, fashion, and behavior.
  • Online environments and media trends shape aesthetics and communication styles.
  • Schools, workplaces, and economic conditions influence professional and creative styles.
With this premise in the background, let us share a Hadith attributed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ mentions three people whose lifestyle and mental orientation can be studied to know why do they behave differently or how their aspirations may have a prefund effect on their character. This Hadith is mentioned in Sunan Abi Dawud  as Hadith number 2859, given and explained herein under:

The Hadith
Narrated Abdullah ibn Abbas that The Prophet (ﷺ) said (the narrator Sufyan said: I do not know but that it [the tradition] has been transmitted from the Prophet (ﷺ):

He who lives in the desert will become rude; he who pursues the game will be negligent, and he who visits a king will be perverted (that is he who approaches the gates of the ruler for personal gains).

Grade: Sahih (Al-Albani)

Explanation of the Hadith
This hadith is not condemning deserts, hunting, or rulers in themselves. Classical scholars explain that the Prophet ﷺ was warning against lifestyles that can gradually affect a person’s character and spirituality.

1. “He who lives in the desert becomes harsh
  • In the Prophet’s time, isolated desert life often meant limited social interaction, less access to knowledge, and rough living conditions. The warning is about becoming emotionally hard, uncultured, or distant from learning and community values. Choosing to live in extreme isolation, far from human civilization, centers of Islamic knowledge, and the company of righteous scholars, causes a person to lose their interpersonal refinement. They become socially detached and spiritually hardened.
  • Modern relevance: Today this can apply to any kind of isolation that disconnects a person from healthy society, learning, and compassion — not just physical deserts. Someone cut off from community, education, or spiritual guidance may become insensitive or extreme in behavior or indifferent to good desires of people around him.
2. “He who pursues hunting becomes negligent
  • Hunting was a permissible activity, but obsessively chasing it for entertainment could distract a person from worship, responsibilities, and remembrance of Allah.
  • Modern relevance: The principle extends to excessive hobbies, entertainment, gaming, social media, sports, or material pursuits when they consume a person’s life and make them neglect prayer, family, ethics, or purpose.
  • The issue is not recreation itself — it is unhealthy obsession and heedlessness.
3. “He who visits rulers will be put into trial
  • Scholars explain this refers to the danger of becoming too attached to political power, wealth, or influence. A person may compromise truth, flatter authority, or become morally corrupted for personal gain.
  • Modern relevance:
    • This remains highly relevant in politics, corporate power, celebrity culture, and influence networks. People close to power can face pressure to stay silent about injustice or sacrifice integrity for status and benefits.
    • At the same time, Islam does not forbid advising leaders or working in government with honesty and justice. Many righteous scholars and companions interacted with rulers while maintaining integrity.
Core Message of the Hadith
The hadith teaches believers to protect:
  • Good character,
  • Spiritual awareness,
  • Independence of conscience,
  • and balance in worldly activities.
To summarize the Hadith one sentence, Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has warned that environments and habits slowly shape the heart. It serves as a profound moral and spiritual warning about three different lifestyles, and how each can negatively affect a person's faith and character.

There have been many Warning and Cautions by Prophet Muhammad ﷺ which we have already shared - this one adds to the list so that believers are cautioned not to indulge in activities or live in an environment which makes the stubborn, indifferent to needs of others while at the same time involving in worldly life and entertainment to an extent that one fails in carrying out one's religious obligations like As Salat (daily five prayers), reading Al Qur'an etc.
May Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى‎) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān. May Allah help us to be like the ones He loves and let our lives be lived helping others and not making others' lives miserable or unlivable. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ‏
(36:17) and our duty is no more than to clearly convey the Message.”
That is Our duty is only to convey to you the message that Allah has entrusted us with. Then it is for you to accept it or reject it. We have not been made responsible for making you accept it forcibly, and if you do not accept it, we shall not be seized in consequence of your disbelief, you will yourselves be answerable for your actions on Day of Resurrection.

May Allah forgive me if my posts ever imply a piety far greater than I possess. I am most in need of guidance.

Reading the Qur'ān should be a daily obligation of a Muslim - Reading it with translation will make it meaningful. But reading its Exegesis / Tafsir will make you understand it fully. It will also help the Muslims to have grasp over social issues and their answers discussed in the Qur'an and other matter related to inter faith so that they are able to discuss issues with non-Muslims with authority based on refences from Qur'an.

Note: When we mention God in our posts, we mean One True God, we call Allah in Islam, with no associates. Allah is the Sole Creator of all things, and that Allah is all-powerful and all-knowing. Islam commands men and women to lower their gaze and protect their modesty

Modesty is defined differently in different cultures, societies and countries. At its core, modesty usually refers to not drawing excessive attention to oneself—especially in appearance, behavior, or self-promotion. When it comes to matter related to modesty, women figure out more than men for their revealing and inviting attires and knocking high heels on the floor attracting attention of the onlookers. It may not be wrong to say that most of the crimes take place due to revealing attire of women than men who generally wear clothes not exposing their bare flesh.

In Islam, there is much stress on the chastity and modesty -for both men and women. Surah An Nur, The 24th chapter of AL Qur'an gives special importance to modesty and commands both men and women to lower their graze with respect to opposite sexes, thereby protecting their modesty. Herein under we share verses 30-31 which command both men and women separately to protect their modesty:

Surah An-Nur (24:30)
And O Prophet, enjoin the Believing men to restrain their gaze and guard their private parts. This is a more righteous way for them: Allah has knowledge of what they do..”
  • Context of the Verse
    • Surah An-Nūr deals with purity of society—not just outward rules, but also Inner discipline, Social boundaries and Protection of dignity.
    • Importantly: This command comes first to men (24:30) and then a parallel command comes to women (24:31)
    • Both  these verses act as a comprehensive set of social regulations designed to protect the chastity, honor, and purity of the Muslim community by controlling unlawful sexual desires and the means that lead to them.
    • This shows that Responsibility begins with self-control, not blaming others
  • What Does “Lower the Gaze” Mean?
    • Some may think that men should never look and glance at a woman and living in isolation.
    • Remember there are two things: Looking and gazing. Looking is only meant to recognize someone and greeting with good intention.
    • But gazing is often with lustful looks or inappropriate looking. Gazing leads to desires, which can lead to zina. Thus, the restriction is a preventative measure.
    • Therefore, men are warned to avoid staring, objectifying, consuming indecent imagery in order to “Guard their as well as that of the females' chastity.”
    • Guarding modesty means to protect actions, thoughts, and desires from corruption and not letting evil thoughts coming close or entering one's thoughts.
  • The Deeper Meaning
    • This verse is about inner اخلاق (character):
      • The eye is a gateway to the heart
      • What you repeatedly look at shapes, these effect thoughts, desires and behavior.
    • That is why Islam addresses the problem at its root - to lower gaze
    • Ibn Kathir emphasizes that this is a direct command from Allah to restrain the eyes from looking at prohibited things, particularly women who are not permissible for them (non-mahram). If a person's gaze falls upon something prohibited unintentionally, they should immediately look away. The transgression is looking intentionally and repeatedly. Ibn Kathir quotes a Hadith explaining that the eyes, ears, tongue, and hands can commit their own form of "adultery" (zina) by engaging with forbidden things before the private parts act on it.
    • Another enlightened scholars of the Muslim World Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi explains:
      • It is not lawful for a man to cast a full gaze at the other women except at his own wife or the mahram women of his family. The chance look is pardonable but not the second look which one casts when one feels the lure of the object. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has termed such gazing and glancing as wickedness of the eyes. He has said that man commits adultery with all his sensory organs. The evil look at the other woman is the adultery of the eyes; lustful talk is the adultery of the tongue; relishing the other woman's voice is adultery of the ears; and touching her body with the hand or walking for an unlawful purpose is adultery of the hands and feet. After these preliminaries the sexual organs either bring the act of adultery to completion or leave it incomplete. (Bukhari, Muslim, Abu Da'ud).
      • "Guard their private parts": Abstain from illicit sexual gratification and from exposing their satar before others. For males, the satar is the part of the body from the navel to the knee, and it is not permissible to expose that pan of the body intentionally before anybody except one's own wife.
Surah An-Nur (24:31)
And tell the believing women to lower their glances and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment [i.e., beauty] except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess [i.e., slaves], or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allāh in repentance, all of you, O Believers, that you might succeed.

While verse 30 restricts men to lower their gaze and protect their modesty, women in the next verse are asked one added thing: not to expose their adornment. Those who can reflect on these two verses would know that the exposure of body parts of women are more attractive to men and in fact all ills of the society commence from the exposure of women. Let us dwell on this post as explained by eminent Muslim scholar Ibn Kathir:
  • Tafsir of Ayah 31: Modesty and Veil for Women And tell the believing women to lower their gaze and guard their private parts..."
    • Women's Responsibility: Similar to men, women are ordered to guard their modesty and avoid gazing at men with desire.
    • Adornment (Zinah): Women are commanded not to display their beauty or ornaments except for what appears naturally (such as the outer garment or hands/face according to different interpretations).
    • Covering the Chest: The verse commands women to draw their veils (khumur) over their chests (juyub) to cover their neck and bosom.
    • Exceptions (Mahram): A woman may display her adornments only to close relatives (mahram) who are forbidden to her in marriage (e.g., father, son, brother, etc.), or other women, servants, and small children.
    • Walking Modestly: Women are instructed not to stamp their feet to attract attention to their hidden beauty (such as ankle bracelets).
  • Tafsir Sayyid Abul Ala Maududi
    • The Commandments of restraining the gaze for women are the same as for men. They should not glance intentionally at the other men, and if they happen to cast a chance look, they should turn their eyes away; and they should abstain from looking at the satar of others. However, the Commandments relating to the men's looking at women are a little different from those relating to the women's looking at men. On the one hand, there is an incident related in a Tradition saying that Hadrat Umm Salamah and Hadrat Umm Maimunah, wives of the Holy Prophet, were sitting with him when lbn Umm Maktum, a blind Companion, made his appearance. The Holy Prophet said to his wives: "Conceal your faces from him." The wives said, "O Messenger of Allah: Is he not a blind man '? Neither will he see us nor recognize us." Thereupon the Holy Prophet remarked: "Are you two also blind? Do you not see him?" While it is forbidden for women to sit face to face with men, it is not unlawful if they cast a look at men while passing on the way or see a harmless performance by them from a distance. There is also no hams for women to see the other men in case of real need.
    • They should abstain from illicit gratification of their sex desire as well as from exposing their satar before others. Though the commandments for men in this respect are the same as for women, the boundaries of satar for women are different from those prescribed for men. Moreover, the female satar with respect to men is different from that with respect to women.
    • The Female Satar ( that is to "concealer," "veil," or "cover")
      • The female satar with respect to men is the entire body, excluding only the hand and the face, which should not be exposed before any other man, not even the brother and father, except the husband. The woman is not allowed to wear a thin or a tight fitting dress which might reveal the skin or the outlines of the body.
      • The boundaries of female satar with respect to women are the same as the boundaries of the male satar with respect to men, which is the part of the body from the navel to the knee. This does not, however, mean that a woman should appear half naked before other women. It only means that while it is obligatory to keep the part of body from the navel to the knee duly covered, it is not so in case of other parts.
    • "Adornment" includes attractive clothes, ornaments and other decorations of the head, face, hand, feet, etc. which the women usually employ, and is expressed by the modern word 'make-up'. The injunction that this `makeup' should not be displayed before others
Relevance Today: Social Media Reality
Let’s be direct—this verse is extremely relevant today. Today, the access to open ended social media, where men and women can easily interact and converse, which often results in closeness and getting into acts unbecoming. Following matter:
  • Constant Exposure
    • Social media promotes: (1) Body display, (2) Sexualized content, and (3) Attention through appearance.
    • What used to be occasional is now constant and normalized.
  • The Culture of Objectification
    • Women (and increasingly men) are reduced to appearance and judged by physical attraction.
    • This creates: (1) Unrealistic standards, (2) Insecurity, and (3) Loss of dignity.
  • Addiction to Visual Stimulation
    • Endless scrolling trains the mind to seek stimulation - to lose self-control.
    • This weakens: (1) Focus, (2) Discipline, and (4) Spiritual awareness
What the Verse is Addressing
This verse is not just about “looking”: It is about: (1) Respecting human dignity, (2) Protecting the heart from فساد and (3) preventing society from becoming morally chaotic.

How to create a Balance (Very Important)
  • This verse does NOT mean: (1) Blaming women for men’s behavior, (2) Ignoring male responsibility, and (3) Policing others while ignoring نفسك
  • Instead it starts with: “Tell the believing men…” You are responsible for your gaze first
  • The verses apply to both genders, recognizing that both men and women have responsibilities in maintaining a decent society.
Practical Application Today
  • Digital Discipline: (1) Unfollow harmful content, (2) Filter your feed, and (3) Be intentional, not passive.
  • Lowering the “Digital Gaze” Not just in real life, but also What You (1) Watch, (2) Scroll or (3) Linger on.
  • Respect Over Objectification See people as Humans and not as Objects of Desires.
  • Internal Awareness:
    • Remember: “Allah is aware of what they do”
    • That is even in Private browsing and hidden habits.
A Deeper Reflection
  • The verse ends with: “That is purer for them”. Which means it protects your heart, mind and relationships.
  • That is what seems like restriction is actually protection and purification
A Powerful Way to Understand It
In today’s terms, this verse is saying: Don’t let your eyes be controlled by a culture that profits from your ضعف (weakness). Take control of what you consume.

In a world where exposure is normalized, modesty is mocked in the name of freedom and desires are constantly stimulated, this verse stands as a counter-cultural principle:

Final Reflection: Real strength is not in seeing everything… It is in controlling what you allow yourself to see. The Divine commands are clear with respect to gazing other sexes and more so on women not to show their adornment openly for it has very negative fallout. All Muslim men and women must adhere to these commands lest we unknowingly commit sins that are unpardonable, unless sincerely repented.

How does Al-Qurʾān guide us to build a strong character framework

Character is defined as the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. It refers to the aggregate of features and traits that form the individual nature of some person or thing. Character generally defines the moral or ethical qualities of a man, thus make him to be called as a man of honorable character.

While Al-Qurʾān lays down a broader framework of humanity, it addresses all matters that improve the quality of man by defining his character, making him a useful entity of the community and make him stand out from other who prefer building up a reputation by any means to look noble and respectful, no matter what he hides behind his masquerade.

With this premise in view, we share ayat / verses from Surah Al Qalam (The Pen) which form the basis of a framework for the true character of a believer.

The Character Framework from Surah Al-Qalam
We can derive 5 core traits to build a strong character. In one of our next posts we would mention 5 traits that eliminate or tarnish the image of a man and ultimately his character.
    • Build: Strong Inner Identity (Not Dependent on People)
      • When Prophet Muhammad ﷺ was mocked and attempts were made by them for his character assassination, Allah reassures Prophet Muhammad ﷺ that “You are not mad… you are upon great character.” (68:2–4)
      • That is the  Prophet Muhammad ﷺ reassured that his identity comes from Allah’s معيار (standard) - and not from Public opinion, Criticism and Lay by validation., not simple labels.
      • Therefore one must define oneself by Values and Principles.
      • In order to be man of true and honest character, one should let social media, workplace, or society define your worth.
    • Build: Exceptional Character (Akhlaqt)
      • (68:4) "and you are certainly on the most exalted standard of moral excellence."
      • Why it is being said is that Character is the highest form of Da'wah (inviting others to one's faith)
      • Thus a strong and good character is reflected in consistency, Integrity, and اخلاق under pressure.
      • Practically speaking, controlling one's anger under odds (as did Prophet Muhammad ﷺ when being rebuked and restrained his anger not to further intimidate his opponents) and still holding on to his honesty and treating even his staunch.
      • One must always be honest to himself and others, specially in difficult times because in such times men try to indulge into conduct unbecoming.
      • Treating people well is one of the best character trait of a believer. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never treated people harshly and was always a helping hand, even to his enemies. This helped The Prophet ﷺ won hearts before arguments.
    • Build: Independence from Corrupt Influence
      • In verses 8-13 of the surah, the theme is Not to obey the deniers.
      • People who are Slanderer, Backbiter, Preventer of good and Aggressive sinner should always be avoided for while being in company of such people, one tends to adopt their bad habits which tarnish his good character.
      • Remember: Your environment shapes your character
      • So what to do? Don’t follow: Toxic leaders, Corrupt systems, and Peer pressure
      • Learn to say “no” with conviction
    • Build: Gratitude and Awareness in Blessings
      • The Story of أصحاب الجنة (68:17–33) tells us a great lesson.
      • Remember: Wealth is a test of gratitude - while Ingratitude leads to loss
      • Therefore always say: “In shā’ Allah” (recognize Allah’s will)
      • Give charity regularly which is a means of acknowledging blessings.
      • Never ever assume that success is self-made - it is a blessing from Allah. So do not be arrogant of your success, rather inculcate humility and gratitude for success, for it could be taken away if one is not grateful.
    • Build: Accountability Mindset
      • It said (68:35–36) → “Will We treat Muslims like criminals?
      • This means that Life is not random and Justice will happen.
      • Therefore, think long-term and prefer آخِرَة (Hereafter) over dunya (wordily life)
      • Before doing anything, ask: “How will this look before Allah?”
When one incorporates these traits in himself, he is sure to reform himself and would always prefer his character over his reputation, for a strong character is more enduring as it comes from within than the reputation which is always short lived and is always dependent on external factors which are borrowed to please others, and not oneself - what to talk of our Creator.

    Core Takeaway
Remember, True success is not: Wealth, Status, or Approval by others, Rather it is the Strong character rooted in awareness of Allah.

In time we will add more selected ayat / verses from this surah.

The best among you is the best in character and manners (Hadith Prophet Muhammad ﷺ)

Character is something that differentiates a good and pious man from a bad or lewd person. In other words, it is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual. No religion or society looks up to someone who does not have strong moral and character qualities. Likewise, those with and mouth and tongue are the least liked people. Like all divine religions, Islam too lays a lot of emphasis on the character qualities and mannerism. In fact, a man of good character would stand the test of time and his qualities encourage others to follow him and respect him.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is the best role model for the world for he displayed an extreme high level of character, matchless I would say. He ﷺ never used bad language, neither a “Fahish” nor a “Mutafahish”  - the two terms used in the Hadith being shared today and will be explained after the Hadith.

      This Hadith is mentioned in Ṣaḥīḥ al-Bukhārī  (Book 78 - RGood Manners and Form (Al-Adab) /  كتاب الأدب / Chapter 39: Good character, generosity, and miserliness /  باب حُسْنِ الْخُلُقِ، وَالسَّخَاءِ، وَمَا يُكْرَهُ مِنَ الْبُخْلِ ) as Hadith 6035, given herein under:

Narrated by Masruq: We were sitting with `Abdullah bin `Amr who was narrating to us (Hadith): He said, "Allah's Messenger (ﷺ) was neither a Fahish nor a Mutafahhish, and he used to say, 'The best among you are the best in character (having good manners)."'

The two terms used in this Hadith are Fahish and Mutafahhish. A range of different meanings have been attributed to the word فحش (Fuhsh) and its derivatives.  Having taken into consideration the context of this Hadith, the word فاحش (Fahish) is in reference to all statements and actions deemed lewd and indecent; it is not only restricted to words having a sexual connotation. A person is also considered “Fahish” when immorality and obscenity has become a normal part of his character (i.e he himself is immoral). A “Mutafahish”, on the other hand, is one who, despite not being innately immoral, does something immoral or obscene intentionally.

This means that any noble and pious man rises above from others in mannerism and character and his tongue and actions a resource of inspiration and tranquility. We much too often come across people who are bad mouthed and even in their normal conversation they use words that are derogatory and immoral. The use of slang has further intensified usage of words that are unbecoming of a decent man. The use of words like f**k, mother f****r has somehow become routine words and even children are seen using these words like f***** up when trying to a poor state due to tiredness or have done a wrong thing. The irony is that even parents use these words in front of their children, who then take a cue from their parents and use these profusely.

So, my brothers and sisters in Islam, and all non-Muslims reading my post, let us rein in our tongue and action that actions that are sued by people of low character or those who use these immoral words in trying to force upon themselves on others. Likewise, bad manners that go to any extent are their usual domain.

Those who have been around Prophet Muhammad ﷺ never found him to be innately immoral nor seen indulging in immorality and obscenity. In fact, he minced each word that he uttered which spoke of his high character qualities. Likewise, when in the company of people, he never displayed any immoral manners that would intimidate others or something that leave a bad impression over others. In fact, he was the embodiment of extreme honesty, loyalty, generosity, and patience. He showed extreme compassion to others, and was fair in making good and impartial judgments. He had the strength oof the character to stand up to defend what he was tasked to by the Lord and performed his prophetic responsibilities with courage and resilience.

Let us emulate the high character and mannerism of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and differentiate ourselves from those with loose tongue and lewdness both in their actions and manners.

Allah has no offspring, no race, no gender, no body, and is unaffected by the characteristics of human life.

We must Judge People by their Character

We generally are in the habit of forming an opinion about others very quickly. Normally our judgement of someone's character is his regularity in offering prayers, giving away alms and charities and helping others. When we such people, we often treat them is pious and God fearing. But is it enough to judge a man's character? Perhaps not true always for many a times such people who are outwardly looking nice and pure, are often found to be otherwise from inside. The same story of Dr Jekyll and Mr. Hyde.

Before we proceed further, let us see what character really means:
The head of the matter is good character. With respect to Allah, good character means adhering to the sound creed (aqeedah) and performing acts of worship (ibadah). With respect to people, good character means being just, merciful, forgiving, kind, and patient in our interactions with others (mu'amalat).
      • Character is the mental and moral qualities distinctive to an individual.
      • Britannica Dictionary definition of CHARACTER: the way someone thinks, feels, and behaves : someone's personality — usually singular. He rarely shows his true character—that of a kind and sensitive person. This is a side of her character that few people have seen.
      • Character defines who we are. So when we judge someone else, we often judge them based on character. For example, when someone always seems to do the right thing, we classify him/her as a person of high ethical standards. Likewise, when someone is constantly negative, we consider him/her to have a pessimistic view.
Whenever Allah places a man on the pedestal of prophethood, the main criterion has always been character. The same was true for Prophet Muhammad when he was being blessed with the honour of prophethood, Allah said: And thou (standest) on an exalted standard of character (Surah 58. Al Qalam (The Pen)- verse 4)

Thus, while we select a person for any job, we must select him for his wealth, his outward appearance, attire or eloquence in speech. Instead, we should try to find his hidden character qualities which of course can be found out by series of tests. Though there are people who sometimes evade such tests and find inroads into a company, establishment or even as the premiers and presidents of the country.  However, they are exposed one day though at the cost of some heavy losses.
The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is reported to have said: “The evilest in my nation are garrulous, braggarts, and pompous. The best of my nation is those with the best character.” “Verily, the believers with the most complete faith are those with the most excellent character and who are most kind to their families.”
In the personality of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ we find an excellent role model of character which was even accepted by his harshest of enemies. Before being given the prophethood, he was a merchant and no one ever raised a finger on his honesty and handling of their goods with even an iota of doubt of his honesty and fair handling. He was truthful, upright and extremely considerate. The Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ is embodiment of character qualities which if followed in true letter and spirit, no Muslim would have failings in his life for following a true faith and confessing to Tawhid, and the Sunnah, one is unable to go wrong ever.

Having just introduced the basics of character, let us now watch an enlightening video below by one of the most eminent scholars of present times,  Wahiduddin Khan and see how he defines character for a true believer:
Wahiduddin Khan (1 January 1925 – 21 April 2021) was an Islamic scholar and peace activist known for having written a commentary on the Quran and having translated it into contemporary English and talking on issues related to Islam.

Having read and seen the video above, please take a reappraisal of yourself and gauge the strengths and weaknesses of your character. And if there are failings, do take corrective measures to remove them. Likewise select people of the highest level of integrity and character qualities so that they serve us as is the right of doing so.

May Allāh (سبحانه و تعالى‎) help us understand Qur'ān and help us to act upon the commandments of Allah contained therein. May Allah help us to be like the ones He loves and let our lives be lived helping others and not making others' lives miserable or unlivable. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.

That is our duty to convey only to you the message that Allah has entrusted us with. Then it is for you to accept it or reject it. We have not been made responsible for making you accept it forcibly, and if you do not accept it, we shall not be seized in consequence of your disbelief, you will yourselves be answerable for your actions on Day of Resurrection.
