Today we share the revert experience of a Baptist preacher who has always been convinced of following a Divine religion with complete authenticity. So much so that one day he came across a Muslim whom he asked what was Islam. After the Muslim explained Islam to him, he just smiled and confided that that Muslim was a CONFUSED Christian. As a devout Christian, his aim has all along to convert Muslims to Christianity, but he was to become Muslim himself instead.
However, his perception about Islam started to change when he received and read a book "Is Bible word of God" by eminent Muslim Scholar and the more he read about it more he wanted to know the historicity of Bible. The more he read the more he believed that he was a CONFUSED Muslim. He was confused about a Catholic Bible and Protectant Bible. And when digging in to the historicity of Bible he came to know that there is not a copy of Bible in Aramaic - or even Hebrew, the languages of land of most of the prophets. Going a little further, there were "authors" of Bible like Paul, John and Luke who "wrote" Bible "about Jesus." And Bible, unlike Qur'an which is only one book of about 600-700 pages, consists of a volume of 60+ books. In Qur'an despite being one book of a few hundred pages, so much is said that confuses someone on non Islamic background as to how concisely and precisely it has been written.
But Qur'an was in Arabic, the language of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ and there is only Qur'an, no versions or variations. Unlike Bible which has commandments attributed to Jesus Christ, Qur'an is nothing but direct revelations from God which were conveyed to Prophet Muhammad ﷺ by Angel Jibraeel (Gabriel).
As for Jesus, he has been quoted as saying that my God is your God, and Jesus was sure that the Father loved him (John 3:35; John 5:20). He was also sure that God, as a perfect Father, would provide for His needs. And He trusted His Father to take care of him, even after death. So how could then Jesus became God himself?
We could write the entire interview, but would like our readers to view and listen to the revert experience that led to Islam in a video labeled " "I Tried to Make Muslims Christian" - Towards Eternity" This video shares the inspiring journey of Brother Khalil Meek, who went from aspiring to become a Baptist preacher to embracing Islam after a deep exploration of religious beliefs.:
By sharing such revert experiences, we hope and pray that those still mulling over reversion to Islam to be reassured that their ultimate decision to enter the fold of Islam will ease their heart and take away the burden they are carrying due to many contradictions contained in other religions.
May Allah (سبحانه و تعالى) help us understand Qur'ān and follow the Sunnah of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, which is embodiment of commandments of Allah contained in the Qur'ān. May Allah help us have unflinching faith and trust in Divine Wisdom and decisions and should never lament for we do not know that something better has been planned for us by our most caring Lord. May all our wrong doings, whether intentional or unintentional, be forgiven before the angel of death knocks on our door.
وَمَا عَلَيۡنَاۤ اِلَّا الۡبَلٰغُ الۡمُبِيۡنُ
(36:17) and our duty is no more than to clearly convey the Message.”
That is Our duty is only to convey to you the message that Allah has entrusted us with. Then it is for you to accept it or reject it. We have not been made responsible for making you accept it forcibly, and if you do not accept it, we shall not be seized in consequence of your disbelief, you will yourselves be answerable for your actions on Day of Resurrection.
Reading the Qur'ān should be a daily obligation of a Muslim - Reading it with translation will make it meaningful. But reading its Exegesis / Tafsir will make you understand it fully. It will also help the Muslims to have grasp over social issues and their answers discussed in the Qur'an and other matter related to inter faith so that they are able to discuss issues with non-Muslims with authority based on refences from Qur'an.
May Allah forgive me if my posts ever imply a piety far greater than I possess. I am most in need of guidance.
Note: When we mention God in our posts, we mean One True God, we call Allah in Islam, with no associates. Allah is the Sole Creator of all things, and that Allah is all-powerful and all-knowing. Allah has no offspring, no race, no gender, no body, and is unaffected by the characteristics of human life.
