The Holy Qur'an (Summary): Chapter 2 Sūrah al-Baqarah

But among them is he who says, "Our Lord, give us in this world [that which is] good and in the Hereafter [that which is] good and protect us from the punishment of the Fire."

I have already introduced my readers to the Chapter 2, Sūrah al-Baqarah and explained as to why it has been named after a cow in one of my previous posts: Chapter 2 Sūrah al-Baqarah (The Cow) - Why the Surah is so named

Now in this post, I will give out the summary of Surah Al Baqarah, which is the longest surah of the Holy Qur'an consisting of 285 verses. This surah is spread over to third part of the Holy Qur'an. This surah was raveled unto Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) in Medina - rather this was the first surah to be revealed in Media after Hijra from Makkah. However, due to its length it took a lot of time for its completion.

A few verses are believed to have been revealed during the last Hajj of Prophet Muhammad  )peace be upon him) known as the The Farewell Pilgrimage.

Its verse number 281 (above) is the last verses of the Quran to be revealed on the 10th of Dhul al Hijjah 10 A.H. while the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was performing his only Hajj after fall of Makkah.
"And fear a Day when you will be returned to Allah. Then every soul will be compensated for what it earned, and they will not be treated unjustly."
The text of the verse (translation given above) amply highlights the divine message that the revelation of the Qur'an was complete and the Prophet should now prepare for his heavenly abode. and some three months later the Prophet left the universe forever to meet his Creator.
