How to welcome and observe the Month of Ramadan (Scholar's Viewpoint)

The month of Ramdan, the holy month of fasting, is just a day away. A month that brings countless bounties of Allah to the Muslims, specially for those who fast during all thirty days of the month, give out charity, recite Qur'an and ask forgiveness from Allah to be blessed and be among those who are rewarded positively.

Prophet Muhammad ﷺ has been quoted as gathering all his companions on the last day of Islamic month of Sha'ban and told them that a month of blessings is just across the corner (that means just a day away) that brings a special gift from Allah to all believers. And he also said that the coming month houses a night which is better than worship of a thousands of months. He was referring to the Laila tul Qadar - a night in which Qur'an was revealed to the believers.

So he ﷺ emphasized that this month of Ramadan should be welcomed wholeheartedly and all able bodied adult Muslims should fast during day and pay special emphasis to their worship, offering prayers and reciting Qur'an for every single act of worship is multiplied umpteen number of times and believers will be rewarded handsomely both in this world and in the life of hereafter.

Today we share an enlightening lecture on how to greet and observe the month of Ramadan by the eminent Musli scholar Dr Israr Ahmed (may Allah be pleased with him). Dr. Israr Ahmad, (1975–2002) was a Pakistani Islamic theologian, philosopher, and Islamic scholar who was followed particularly in South Asia as well as by South Asian Muslims in the Middle East, Western Europe, and North America.
